At The Raise Academy, we believe that education extends beyond the classroom. Our enrichment programme forms an important part of our wider personal development offer, providing pupils with opportunities to discover new interests, develop their talents, build confidence and independence, and experience activities that support their preparation for life beyond school.
Every Friday afternoon, pupils take part in a structured programme of enrichment activities. Our provision is organised across six key areas:
- Sport & Physical Activities
- Nature, Outdoors & Adventure
- Wider life and future skills (including STEM)
- Arts & Culture
- Civic Engagement
- Mindfulness
Pupils have opportunities to experience a broad range of activities across these areas, with the programme shaped by their interests, needs and aspirations. Activities are supported by the expertise and interests of Raise staff, alongside opportunities to work with external organisations and partners.
Activities may include:
- Football
- Skateboarding/Bikes
- Board Games/Lego
- Art and crafts
- Dance
- Climbing
- Reiki
- Gaming
Alongside our Friday enrichment programme, pupils benefit from an extensive range of lunchtime activities, educational visits, trips and experiences throughout the year. These opportunities enable pupils to broaden their horizons, develop their interests and engage with the wider community.
We use pupil voice and participation to help shape and develop our enrichment offer, ensuring that activities remain engaging, relevant and accessible. We recognise and celebrate pupils’ participation and achievements as part of our wider school culture.
