Mental Health Support at The Raise Academy
At Raise we offer all our students a therapeutic environment in which to learn and grow. Part of this offer is direct mental health support provided on-site by a Children and Young People’s Wellbeing Practitioner.
Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners are trained to assess and support children and young people with common mental health difficulties and offer a range of low intensity interventions that are based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and guided self-help, such as:
-
- Behavioural Activation for depression and low mood
- Graded Exposure for specific phobias
- Anxiety management
- Parent-led CBT for behavioural difficulties
We work closely with outside agencies, such as CYPMHS (formerly CAMHS), in order to support students who require more intensive work for more severe mental health difficulties.
As part of the therapeutic environment at Raise, we support students to develop their self-regulation skills, resilience and improve their emotional and physical health with activities such as mindfulness and meditation.
